Emergency Preparedness--Food and Water

Takeaways we learned from Hurrican Katrina and Venezuela:

  • Help will not arrive right away
  • Basic supplies on hand can save lives
  • People die without clean water
The Department of Homeland Security is urging all Americans to store 3 to 6 months of food for emergency preparedness.  With all of the talk about the upcoming economic collapse,  the possibility of terroristic attack and possible shutdown of government for any reason, it is incumbent upon all of us to take measures to make sure that we can sustain ourselves.

My goal, even in an RV, is to become as self-sufficient as I possibly can.  With that in mind, I have prepared a video in which I share some of the food items that I keep on hand in the case of an emergency.  I feel it is necessary to share--it may save lives.

If you have some items on your list that you feel would be helpful to add to the list, please share in the comments below.
